About Gregorio

Gregorio is former First Secretary of the Mexican Embassy in Washington DC, Director of Cultural Affairs of the National Bank of Mexico, and former director of the Museum of Latin American Art.

 

He has lectured and performed for the Smithsonian Institution, the Library of Congress, Harvard University, Columbia, John Hopkins, University of Southern California, Department of Labor, Department of State, the Organization of American States, the National Museum for Women in the Arts, the Boeing Corporation, Disney Corporation, the Detroit Institute of Arts, the Phoenix Museum, Mexico's Bellas Artes, UNAM, the Supreme Court of Mexico, and La Raza among many others.

Equally at home speaking to an audience of business persons at a corporate keynote on navigating the cultural intricacies of business in Mexico, as to museum-goers in New York, with is lectures, Gregorio changes the way we do business, and the way we think about art and culture in daily life.

Described as the "Christo" of the art lecture or a male "Sister Wendy," Gregorio has an international following.  His lectures and performances combine the scale of cinema with brilliant analysis and a deep knowledge and passion for the art and culture of Latin America. Born to one of the most famous art figures in Mexico, choreographer Gloria Contreras, Gregorio grew-up on the stage.  Raised between New York City and Mexico City, he came by his passion for the transformative power of the arts at a very early age.  

Considered one of the foremost speakers on art and culture in North America, Gregorio's lectures combine larger than life imagery, humor, and piercing political, historical and artistic analysis. In demand across Europe, Asia and North and South America, Gregorio has lectured and performed to audiences in Argentina, Peru, Chile, Hong Kong, Fiji, Poland, Germany, Italy, Norway, Mexico and the U.S.  

Beloved across Mexico for his 42-episode national television series, Dentro del Arte Con Gregorio Luke and identified as one of the top Latino influencers in the U.S. by the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences, Gregorio brings his special magic to everyone who experiences his events.  

Bringing his passion for the arts to indigenous communities from Baja California to the elite of New York City, Gregorio is indefatigable in his mission to connect people to the arts as a way of edifying life, relationships and work.
